The Situation

Smith Micro Software, Inc. is a leading developer and marketer of wireless and broadband communication, PC utility and diagnostic, and eCommerce software products and services. SmithMicro's strategy is to broaden the company’s product footprint and allow expansion into other high growth wireless security sectors. In order to accomplish this, they are conducting a campaign to hire a Senior Director, Software Development who will lead the efforts of the development of the latest, cutting edge telecommunication oriented products. This position can be located in both Aliso Viejo, CA or Chicago, IL.

The Position

The Senior Director, Software Development will direct large teams of software engineers for developing wireless connectivity software for large carriers, OEM and Enterprise customers. This is an opportunity for a brilliant engineering leader to define the architecture and implementation of software products and drive all phases of the development process.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for software development processes, methodologies, and best practices. He or she will also have an entrepreneurial and true-team spirit, high energy, and a desire to work in the most technically advanced environment being able to take personal pride in a product that works flawlessly.

The ideal candidate will also have 15+ years of software engineering management experience, and deep expertise in the planning, execution and tracking of complex software projects. He or she will have a broad background in numerous software technologies and network protocols within a Windows environment.
